A Family Affair
Started in 2012 in South Florida, VMA Studios was born out of owners Aaron and Vanessa Lurie’s passion for photography. The name derives from combining the initials of Vanessa’s name and the Lurie children’s names, Merissa and Alexander.
Aaron and Vanessa have been in the wedding photography business for nearly a decade.
Now settled in Raleigh, the husband-and-wife duo are actively growing their local team of wedding photographers, videographers and graphic designers. VMA Studios serves the North Carolina and South Florida markets primarily, and the Luries have also had the opportunity to travel to beautiful places around the world, capturing some of their clients’ happiest moments along the way.
Aaron is the face of VMA Studios and the master of the camera, specializing in wedding photography, portraits, studio photography and much more. Vanessa runs everything behind the scenes, including putting together photo albums that will serve to tell your story for generations to come.

The day of your event, Aaron and his team work with you, your guests and other vendors to seamlessly capture the moments of your big day in all of their beauty.
Following your event, VMA Studios works carefully to touch up each photo by hand and ensure that every individual moment is preserved in its ideal form. This process takes about 8-10 weeks, but Aaron and his team’s care and dedication is unparalleled.
The process is not yet complete even once the images are finalized and revealed to you in spectacular fashion. Aaron and Vanessa work tirelessly to bring to life a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted photo album that serves to commemorate the start of the rest of your life together.
